IN THIS EVER CHANGING WORLD IN WHICH WE LIVE IN, AT LEAST ONE THING HAS REMAINED THE SAME (Great Quotations)

Because, so far as I know, this has not changed…

“The only creature hurt in making our picture was a press agent who got in the way of a posse. Fortunately, there’s no society for the prevention of cruelty to press agents.” (John Ford, responding to whether any horses were injured during the filming of Stagecoach)

  1. Funny! Actually, the move to end the injury to animals used in filmmaking was a HUGE leap forward for Hollywood and rarely gets the attention it deserves. Also watched DICK at your recommendation and will comment on it there. Have you ever seen one of my faveravest westerns, RUSTLER’S RHAPSODY?

    • Well, Ford had a knack for being ahead of his times while pretending to be behind them…I did notice you had watched and enjoyed Dick in your last post (meant to comment but this week has turned into a zoo as my work-partner is sicker than I was a few weeks back so I find myself slacking in other areas!). Haven’t seen Rustler’s Rhapsody but I have a fondness for western spoof/satire in particular so that’s one I should definitely add to the list!
